Washing Up (or an ode to assistant writer Ji-ho)

Se-hee admired the efficiency of Ji-ho’s washing up. Such economical use of water, detergent and effort to produce such cleanly washed tableware and utensils. He, on the other hand, though meticulous in his cleaning, could not match her speed or efficiency. Se-hee was utterly impressed. How did she do it? he wondered as he tried to observe her methods. What was her magic algorithm? Continue reading

Hair

Yeon-kyung put on the hanbok as Im and the kids waited outside.

At this rate we’re going, I could probably open a hanbok rental company in Seoul… I should probably wear some light pieces of gold or silver more – at least that’d pay for all the clothes and stuff that we always need to get here. Wonder where he gets his money from – bartering acupuncture services, perhaps? she mused.

Her mind turned to Im. Last night, she had woken and seen him checking on the sleeping Kang and tucking Dam in.

He’d be a great father one day… Aish! Why did I think that? she chided herself for her stray thought as she absently tied her hair into a chignon.

“Let’s go!” she announced brightly as she stepped out of the hut, holding out her hands to the children.

Im looked at her and smiled.

Yeon-kyung is so pretty. My Yeong-kyung is so pretty. My wife is so pretty.

He blushed as he followed behind.

Descendants of the Sun Fanfic 8: Dae-young & Myung-joo (157)

vlcsnap-2016-04-14-17h47m19s407_zpswu6vbh6w

Clickbait Wannabe: What happens in the army, stays in the army.  Unless it happens to involve rabid fanboys of aegyo girl groups and the internet.

This fic is set in Ep 16 after the girlfriends find out about their men’s fanboy behaviour. Disclaimer: I hold no rights to the characters, plot or anything else associated with Descendants of the Sun. Continue reading

Descendants of the Sun Fanfic 7: Myung-joo and Dae-young (Blocked)

Clickbait Wannabe: Myung-joo is frustrated. What does a girl have to do to get some sugar?

This fic is set in Ep 9 after Myung-joo tells Shi-jin to throw the pebble at Dae-young.  (This is slightly racy, in case you’re underaged. But only very minutely so.  Disclaimer: I hold no rights to the characters, plot or anything else associated with Descendants of the Sun.

Descendants of the Sun Fanfic 6: Shi-jin & Dae-young (Date)

Koala and probably some Soompi forumers have mentioned that the date was a callback to the date Dae-young promised Shi-jin if the latter didn’t answer Myung-joo’s call [in Episode 1].  I know Dae-young said they went as far as Konkuk University, whose Seoul campus is located in the southeastern part of Seoul, near the Han River, which is where lovers go for romantic dates or bad breakups, but I’m choosing to ignore that possibility for something less loaded.

Clickbait Wannabe: Rejected by Mo-yeon, Shi-jin gets Dae-young to make good on his promise of introducing air-stewardesses to him. How will the date go?

This fic is set in the time before they were sent to Urk.  (This is NOT yaoi fic. I also don’t know how to do smut yet.)  Disclaimer: I hold no rights to the characters, plot or anything else associated with Descendants of the Sun. Continue reading

Descendants of the Sun Fanfic 4: Ki-bum and Min-ji (Compassion)

If you’ve watched up to Episode 8 of DotS, you might have noticed earnest puppy, Ki-bum, and rookie nurse, Min-ji. There doesn’t appear to be any storyline involving both, but being the most junior in their organisations in Urk, I’d expect they might have more in common than they think.

Clickbait Wannabe: Ki-bum is bummed out that he’s more hindrance than help.  Compassion comes from an unexpected quarter.

This flashfic is related to the post-earthquake recovery work in Ep 7. Disclaimer: I hold no rights to the characters, plot or anything else associated with Descendants of the Sun.

Descendants of the Sun Fanfic 3: Myung-joo & Dae-young (Absence)

I thought I’d be more enamoured with the Song-Song couple, and while their dilemma has been painted so vividly, and multiple AU stories could form, somehow the secondary couple’s story resonates more.  There’s so much we don’t know, but there must have been a lot of happy memories, especially after the snippets on Ep 5 and 6.  Theirs is a simple, ordinary love borne from respect and friendship, and not so much of the whizz-bang kind of romance.

Clickbait Wannabe: Dae-young and Myung-Joo are dating, and he’s off on a mission.  As a soldier, she understands that he can’t be in contact when on a mission, but she still misses him.  How now?

This fluff fic is in the style of the Princess Diaries, and is related to the flashback scene in Ep 6.  Disclaimer: I hold no rights to the characters, plot or anything else associated with Descendants of the Sun.
